America First Legal is a new right-wing litigation operation co-founded by former Trump administration official Stephen Miller and former Trump chief of staff Mark Meadows, with seed funding from Meadows’ Conservative Partnership Institute.

As Donald Trump’s White House chief of staff, Mark Meadows played an instrumental role in attempts to overturn the 2020 election results that ultimately culminated in the January 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol. Meadows co-founded America First Legal in 2021, and was listed as a member of the Board of Directors for America First Legal through at least April 12, 2023, shortly after a federal appeals court denied Trump’s attempt to shield Meadows from testifying before a grand jury.
