Supreme Transparency

The Southeastern Legal Foundation (SLF) is a Georgia-based right-wing litigation group that was founded in 1976 by a former legislator, Rep. Ben Blackburn, whose nomination to the Federal Home Loan Bank Board was rejected after he became known for urging the “hanging” of public housing tenants behind on their rent and for supporting “literacy tests” for voting, a notorious weapon used to  suppress voting by Black Americans. Over the years, SLF has become better known for challenging anti-corruption measures like the Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act and pro-environment measures like the Endangered Species Act and the EPA’s efforts to mitigate climate changes that are harming people and the planet.
