Mahmoud v. Taylor

Court Accountability: “A group of parents, backed by theocratic litigation juggernaut Alliance Defending Freedom, say their kids’ public elementary schools violated the parents’ religious rights by not giving them a chance to opt their children out of instruction on gender and sexuality against their parents’ religious convictions. The Roberts majority made clear at oral argument that it agreed with the parents and was eager to make federal courts meddle in school districts’ curricular choices whenever any classroom material offends a parent’s religious sensibilities.” (See Court Accountability’s full June Decisions Preview here.)
